We are proud to share that our clinic director, Barbara, attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) session in Parliament this month, focused on the regulation of both medical and non-medical aesthetics.
It was an honour for Barbara to sit on the panel alongside so many respected voices in the specialism, all working towards the same goal of regulating standards and patient safety across the specialism.
The APPG for Beauty & Wellbeing has been instrumental in raising awareness of key issues facing the sector. Their 2020 inquiry into non-surgical cosmetic procedures led to key recommendations around qualifications, enforcement, and patient safety, which helped shape Section 180 of the Health & Care Act 2022.
Now, the government has announced plans to move forward with regulation in this area, which include:
- Requiring only suitably qualified healthcare professionals to perform high-risk procedures.
- Licensing both practitioners and premises for treatments such as neurotoxins and injectable fillers.
- Enforcing 18+ age restrictions for certain procedures.
We welcome these proposed changes as a vital step towards regulating, improving accountability, and patient safety across the medical and non-medical aesthetics specialism.
It’s an exciting moment for progress, and we are honoured to contribute to the conversation.
Medi-Spa 28 would also like to thank the MP for Stafford, Leigh Ingham, for her encouragement and for giving us a national voice on this very important issue.
Following this, the BBC interviewed Barbara about the urgent need for regulation in both medical and non-medical aesthetics, and how clinics like ours are working to champion safer, more accountable standards for patients.
We shared a sneak peak of our Skin + Laser Lab coming VERY soon to our clinic. Keep an eye out on our socials to find out more!
Dan had the pleasure of speaking on behalf of ALMA - sharing how the Harmony XL Pro can transform clinic outcomes.
We then heard from The lovely Eleanor at Hart Medical who gave an insightful overview of the Revanesse portfolio.
To close, Dan delivered a live treatment using Revanesse Revise – showcasing results in real time.
It was fantastic to reconnect with colleagues old and new, and we’re especially grateful to the amazing Dermafocus team – our trusted choice for polynucleotides in clinic for a perfect dinner at Fumo where great company matched the great food.
The team were treated to on-site chemical skin peel training to introduce the extensive Alumier range to the clinic this month!
The autumn and winter months are the perfect time to review your skin health.
Some of these powerhouses of medical-grade peels are used in combination with our Alma Laser Machine, to prepare the skin for optimum results.
Stay tuned for more on this or contact our friendly team if you have any questions 🤍
